I thought I'd share my nearly completed painting. After much debate and the temptation to give Romain a clean shave, I've relented and am letting his goatee and moustache grow back. I think he's grateful.

How I Paint Clouds in Oils

I paint clouds in three basic stages. I share my first two stages in this post.

I first establish the large shapes and the inner glow.

As my family has pointed out, it looks like Romain Coolus has something nasty coming out of his nose. It's true... no... it's an incomplete moustache. I like him best with a shave, so we'll have to see about his nasal issues when I find time to complete this study. -- Lalla
