There is an exceptional documentary film available for screening in theaters this year. It has already been awarded high honors at film festivals around the world. According to Producer/Director Khashyar Darvich, "We have also had prominent film directors and others in the entertainment industry who have watched Dalai Lama Renaissance and felt profoundly impacted by it. These experiences give me a deep and humbling feeling of satisfaction, affirming that we have approached making the film with the right intentions and effort."
You can read the full synopsis on the film's website: "The Dalai Lama of Tibet invited 40 of the West’s leading, most innovative thinkers in their respective fields to his residence tucked away in the Himalayan mountains of Northern India to discuss the world’s problems and how we can solve them. What transpired was unexpected and powerful."

"The five day series of discussions about how to change the world and solve some of its most crucial problems by creating solutions from a synthesis of their varied disciplines. Artists, scholars, physicists, astronomers, business leaders, doctors and authors all longed to meet and speak directly with the Dalai Lama. His Holiness became a mythic figure who could and would transform each person and bring about the kind of alchemy and action that all expected to occur."
"It was not the kind of transformation that anyone had expected. It was a very personal transformation and a profound inspiration received at the hand of the Dalai Lama. He had been teaching and grounding the Synthesis participants every step of the way with his simple message that the most important thing in the world is to realize that all people want happiness and that the way to achieve this is to instill "secular ethics" with compassion as the basis. All action in the world must come from this basic foundation."
"The participants agreed to take their particular insights about how to solve the particular problems related to their field and inspire and enact change after returning to America."

Producer/Director Khashyar Darvich states, "We are deeply concerned about the troubling situation in Tibet, which is a result of the deep frustration, unhappiness and desperation of the Tibetan People, fundamentally caused by the Chinese government systematically importing millions of Chinese immigrants into Tibet, and implementing laws and policies that minimize and repress Tibetan language, arts and culture in favor of implementing Chinese language and culture. The Chinese Government's intention is to overwhelm Tibetan culture in Tibet with Chinese culture. We agree with the Dalai Lama that these Chinese Government policies amount to a Cultural Genocide of the Tibetan People and culture.
"We know that people want a way to help and do something positive for the Tibetan People and Culture. We want to take positive steps to compassionately counteract the genocide of Tibetan culture in Tibet. The filmmakers of Dalai Lama Renaissance want to do our part in taking positive steps to help preserve and save Tibetan Culture, arts, and Tibetan Buddhism, all of which have benefited and enriched the world."
